What is fiPMG?
fiPMG (flywheel-integrated Permanent Magnet Generator) is a synchronous permanent-magnet generator built directly into the flywheel of a Hatz Series 1B engine. Unlike conventional flange-mounted generators, it takes up almost no extra space and adds a mere 3 kg of weight.
Thanks to Hatz E1 technology with electronically controlled injection, the engine regulates its speed according to the current load (load-dependent speed). The result is quieter operation, lower fuel consumption, lower emissions and a longer service life compared with constant-speed generators.
Engines with fiPMG are the only ones on the market certified for both EU Stage V and US EPA/CARB Tier 4 Final across the entire speed range – a single machine can be sold and operated in the EU and the USA, including California, without modification.

Variable speed
The engine runs only at the power output that is actually needed. Quieter operation, less wear, lower maintenance costs compared with constant-speed generators.
Automatic battery charger
CAN bus communication with the BMS (Battery Management System) – the engine starts and stops automatically according to the battery state. Maximally energy-efficient operation.
Dual EU + USA certification
Both EU Stage V and US EPA/CARB Tier 4 Final across the entire speed range. A single product for the European and American markets without engine modifications.
IoT ready
Hatz E1 technology enables connection to fleet management, remote diagnostics, geofencing and future pay-per-use models via mobile data networks.
Silent Pack version
Selected models are supplied in a Silent Pack soundproof enclosure – noise level of just 64.6 dB(A) at a distance of 7 m. Suitable even for residential areas.
Free output shaft
By integrating the generator into the flywheel, the output shaft remains fully free for flange-mounting a hydraulic pump or other drive.

Diesel-powered DC battery chargers with fiPMG technology. Available as an OEM kit for integration into a machine or as a complete Silent Pack unit.

Hybrid construction machinery
Cranes, lifting platforms and auxiliary machine drives. fiPMG charges batteries as an on-board charger – the machine is always ready, even without an electrical grid.
Recreational vehicles (RV)
The GD 3200 Silent Pack RV model is specially developed for installation in recreational vehicles – with an auxiliary tank and automatic fuel refilling.
Agricultural robots and equipment
Autonomous field robots without access to the electrical grid. fiPMG ensures the work in the field is completed without the risk of battery depletion – fuel savings of up to 40% in hybrid operation.
Telecommunications masts
Antennas in remote locations powered by a 56 V DC battery. fiPMG ensures uninterrupted operation with low fuel consumption around 0.5 l/h.
Mobile traffic signs and light towers
Solar traffic signs and light towers. When sunlight is unavailable or panels fail, fiPMG takes over as backup – essential for road safety.
Backup power (off-grid)
Lighthouses, eco-friendly power plants, buildings without a grid connection. Consumption from 0.5 l/h provides long bridging of outages without the need for large fuel reserves.
