About Series F
Hatz Series F is the newest generation of three- and four-cylinder liquid-cooled engines designed for the sub-19 kW market. It meets the strictest emission standards – EU Stage V and US EPA Tier 4 Final – without the need for aftertreatment (DPF/SCR).
The engines use IDI combustion (indirect injection) with a modernised combustion chamber for an optimal combination of power, consumption and emissions. Three-cylinder models (3F) are available in variable-speed and constant-speed versions, while four-cylinder models (4F45, 4F45E) run exclusively at constant speed for generator applications at 50 or 60 Hz.
Variants marked E are equipped with an electronic speed governor (Electronic Governor), which ensures precise speed regulation under variable load – ideal for generators and machines that require a stable frequency.
Series F variants
Seven models across four displacement classes – three- and four-cylinder versions. The "E" suffix means electronic governor. CS = constant speed.

Mechanical governor (3F30, 3F45, 4F45)
Simple and robust. Suitable for standard applications without a requirement for precise frequency regulation. Lower acquisition costs.
Electronic governor – EFI (3F30E, 3F35E, 3F45E, 4F45E)
Precise speed regulation under variable load. Ideal for generators (stable 50 Hz) and machines with CAN bus communication.
Series F applications
Stage V generators
Diesel generators up to 19 kW that meet Stage V – for use in the EU without exceptions. The "E" variants ensure a stable frequency of 50 Hz.
Construction equipment
Compact construction machinery requiring Stage V compliance – vibratory rollers, mini excavators, telehandlers.
Pumping equipment
Engine-driven pumps for municipal and industrial applications. Liquid cooling ensures stable operation even under continuous full load.
Agricultural machinery
Drives for agricultural machinery requiring Stage V and US EPA T4f compliance for export to the USA.
